Just got one as a part of a lot. How is it different from the regular 110, other than the folding lip, that is? The megabass website seems to claim it's a suspending bait rather than a slow-floater..

Thanks,

I believe it does suspend, although I've never really tested it...I just take their word for it.  The FX does have a slightly different action.  It's hard to describe, but I would say that the FX is a little more unpredictable in it's action.  If you've spent some time with the regular 110 you will probably notice the difference.  It's not a huge difference and I wouldn't say it's a negative, but I still prefer the regular 110.  The folding lip is cool but on the 110 sized bait I think it's a little irrelevant, you can bomb both versions further than almost anything else.  I think that folding lip would make a bigger impact on smaller sized baits where wind resistance is a bigger deal.

It does seem like it's much less likely to have a broken bill and I will admit to switching to the FX when banging over rocks/boulders...I've roughed up the lip on one a good bit and it's still holding strong.

It's a good bait and will catch fish, I'm not getting rid of mine...But if someone asks me to choose between the FX and Original in the same color, I'm taking the Original.

Thanks! Info much appreciated.

I do have a regular 110, although my jerkbait lineup consists mostly of Lucky Crafts.

I will have to mostly wait till next Spring. Absolutely nothing up shallow in the few reservoirs I fish. Maybe I can try it out in my uni's pond though where I caught a few on a Silent Pointer on Sunday.

Yeah the FX suspends and also has the movable bill. Slightly more erratic and stalls nicely. Not hugely different than the 110 but a nice addition to the ripbait tray for sure.

So I tried it out today, and the dang thing SINKS. I **** you not! (On braid + mono leader)

Water was in high 40s, and IIRC, warmer water is even less denser.

On the plus side though, it sinks only about a foot every five seconds; so it's not a big deal. Casts super well too; further than a 112 Pointer anyway. Think I can make it work.

Didn't catch anything on the 110; did catch a few on the 112 which I tried first.

Interesting, I've never noticed it with mine but I believe you...Wouldn't bother me too much because I'm usually not using super long pauses, maybe 1 or 2 seconds at the most in cold water.  Just another reason for me to like the original more, more versatility in the slow-floater :D.
