Anyone have any experience with the stuff. I have several guns needing to be refinished and thinking about doing duracoat on them for the fact that you don't have to bake it like you do cerakote.

Wondering how much to get I have two 870s to do, a Marlin 917 and a savage axis. I'm still undecided to do the new mossberg it's got a purrty laminate varmint style stock on it.

The axis I want to do in a kryptek pattern the stencils are a bit pricy though.

I would most likely be applying with either my airbrush or hvlp gun but I also have cases of prevale sprayers at my disposal.

You can get air dry cerakote now, but if it were me I'd go the bake on route as it holds up much better just make sure you use a HVLP sprayer.

I heat the gun with a hair dryer after cleaning it and spray it with brownells alums Hyde II. It's epoxy paint and lasts forever.

I personally haven't coated any but I have guns a friend coated. He has done many guns and swears by this Duracoat. He buys from here I believe http://www.houtsenterprises.net/

He does the bake on and the bake on works on the laminate / plastic as well. Different process though, you do a lower temp longer bake time. Most of his parts he does in a small toaster over and they look awesome. Look as good as any store bought anyway. 

He actually has 2 of my new AR15 uppers and lowers right now coloring them. 

I have it on the last couple rifles I've built, but not the air dry stuff, mine are the baked on.  The air dry strikes me as being nothing more that an expensive paint.
