Lake O reports?

Featured Replies

I'm heading out to the lake first time this year now that the weather has cooled finally!!!  Just wondering if anyone is doing any good lately?  Appears the water levels are still higher than normal for this time of year too.

Went out 2 weekends ago with a friend of mine, we boated 25 out of Belle Glades.

Sounds great.  Any feedback appreciated!  Lou that's a good day!  Were you offshore on schoolies or fishing in the grass?  I'm gonna hit west wall and work my way from there.  I figured with this front  a big wave will be moving up shallower which is why I should head to the monkey box instead?

We had to work for every single one of those bites. We stayed inside.  The wind was blowing pretty hard that day, so we made several passes over and pretty large area that had hydrilla, the fish were holed up between those pockets.

Fished out of J&S today, in the northeast part of O. It was a beautiful day and we were expecting great things, but the bite was very slow. A couple of boats including ours, only boated two bass, and I tell you we worked hard for those two, all day long. But tomorrow may be great.  Who knows. Photo from 7:05 AM.

But look at that view! Beautiful picture!

Thanks, SFL BassHunter. It was a beautiful silent morning, windless, the just-risen sun finally dissipating the fog. Pulled out my iPhone for the photo before the first cast.

fished the north end friday and the bfl on saturday. tough fishing. had 14 pounds in the bfl and it was work. went south sunday and fished the king of the glades first round and had close to 16 pounds. had two five pounders and three 2 pounders. we caught well over 30 fish in south bay, but they were all small. even though i hate throwing them, senkos wore them out. hope this helps

Thanks for the updates. Heading out Friday and it looks like it's gonna be blowing out there pretty good.  Kind of changes my plan of winds are 20-30 mph!!  Going either way unless forecast calls for lightning.

I also fished the BFL on Saturday. My boater fished the lake last week and said he was pulling in 4's and 5's around the shoal and off Bird Island so that's where he wanted to go.

We fished the shoal first and both had a limit by 10:30. He used a spook and I a frog then switched to a Cut R. From there we fished just outside of Tin House and culled a few but left after a while and headed to Bird Island. When we got there I counted 37 boats, when we left about 2 hours later there were 67!

From there we went back to Kings Bar, caught fish but nothing with any size. Anyway we never really got a kicker that we both needed. like I said we were culling by 10:30 but it was only by ounces.

Our weather has been very unstable this week. Especially yesterday. Decent weather is on tap for today, but right back with unstable weather again for tomorrow.
