Hey yall I just brought a used Elite-5x chirp. This is the one without the GPS chartplotter. One question is there any way I can get the GPS thing for this one? Also so I need a longer wire to go to my battery. Can I use any electrical  wire?

    You want to used shielded wire I would say no smaller then 14 gauge.  And I do believe you can add gps, just have to buy the software (can check Lowrance's website and see to double check) and if you want it faster you can upgrade with the gps Point-1 antenna.
