Alligator Alley MM 39

Saturday 1/16/16, 7:00 - 11:00, Sunny, water temp 69^, clarity light stain, wind 5 NNE.

Went out this morning to Alligator Alley with Steve Johnson.   The fog was heavy this morning and we sat at the rest area until it lifted.  We then ran to the bridge area and began fishing the cut between the two canals.  Bass were tight to the pilings. Several keeper bass were caught in this area.  We then moved to the north canal and fished the road side, and fished back to the ramp area.

The bass were not chasing baits, all bites were deep and very subtle.  The only way to detect a bite was when you moved the bait,  you could feel some weight on the line.  Most bass were caught on 4" stick-o's, trick worms and zoom centipedes.  Hollow body frogs, spinnerbaits, buzzbaits got no results.  Most bass were deep and you had to fish very slow.  We ended up with 11 caught, most were keeper size with the largest at 2.5 lbs.  It was a great day to be out in the glades.
