supplies for pouring

Featured Replies

other then the molds could some one make a list of supplies to show what to use to pour plastic lures

Off the top of my head.

If you are just remelting old plastics:

- Microwave (never to be used for food again)

- Pyrex measuring cup(s)

- Stirring implement, I just use an old butter knife

- Safety equipment (Goggles, Gloves etc.)

- Something to ventilate your work area (hood fan) if it is indoors

- A respirator is a good idea

If you are starting from scratch you also need:

- Plastisol

- Plastisol Dye

- Glitter (made for high temperatures, not craft store stuff)

Check out tackleunderground.com, anything you could want to know can be found in their forums.

thanks for the info it helps and what place sells the cheapest plastisol

There's a few different brands out there. Bears Baits has Calhoun for $29.50 per gallon, and a couple of other brands of plastic.
