New Spinning Rods

Featured Replies

After 20 years, I am retiring my current bass spinning rods and buying new ones.  So for some winter fun, I would love some opinions on lengths, actions, handle type and rod selections for:

  1. Dropshot/Senko  Rod
  2. Small Crankbait Rod
  3. Jig/Worm Rod

I utilize baitcast for large crankbait, jigs, etc.  I have also always used cork handles and that has certainly changed.  I will be using a Shimano 2500 size reel.

Criteria - Rod Cost - $80 to $180, Good Warranty, Lightweight

Thanks to All

7' medium can be used for 1 & 2. Then anywhere from 6'10" to 7'3" medium heavy fast action for #3.

I'd consider looking at St Croix's Avid. A brand new one is only a few dollars above your budget.
