I have a tournament next weekend on greenwood and didn't have much luck on pre-fishing. What are some of the best baits to use right now with dark water and colder temps?

Welcome to the forums. I would use a dark blue and black jig. Thats what I have the best luck with.

I live about an hour away from Lake Greenwood. They'll choke a Bama Rig and a spoon in deeper water. Or you can run the bank with a shad rap. I've done well on a bright red crawdad shad rap fished around all the rip rap banks this time of year down there. Good luck.

When you say deep water...exactly how deep to use the spoon and where to use the spoon and a-rig?

Was it the PBC High School tournament?

I've always just went towards back of creeks and found the creek channel. If bait was in it, Id drop a spoon down. A-Rig is about the same. Find bait, graph some fish, and sling it til your arms fall off. Still really learning the a-rig bite down there. How'd you do in the tournament?

goose egg.  was my first time fishing greenwood and was astonished with how loaded this place was with baitfish but could not find any LM bass.  very frustrating.  many guys in my club had goose eggs also.
