Buzzing Paddle Tail Swimbaits on Top

Featured Replies

I`ve been wanting to buzz a swimbait on top of the water for about a year know. and im gonna do it when the ice melts and the grass grow in the lakes. any tips on buzzing swimbaits (The Set-Up, The Swimbait, The Hook, and anything else). Ive heard good things about the Gambler Big EZ for this method any input would be much appreciated.

I don't know anything about it.  I don't throw buzz baits all that much, much less soft plastic swim baits fished as a buzz bait.  My thought would be that if you've heard about one bait that is good for that tactic, try that first.

Easily my most productive technique for fishing lily pads.  I like fishing them weightless if I'm trying to keep them at the top. It lets you go slower, which I feel can help on certain days.

I use Keitechs with nail weights and fish them slowly on top occasionally allowing them to drop under the pads/grass.  16+lb Flouro.
