Hey guys, I have a *** *** Black 2 7'1" MH fast action casting rod with 30# braid 6.8:1 gear ratio and an Abu Garcia Veritas 7'1" Medium fast action spinning rod with 10# braid 5.2:1 gear ratio. Which one would be better for throwing shallow crank baits, lipless cranks, and etc? Or do I need to buy a new rod and reel?

Swap the lines and go with the 7'1" MH with 30# and 5.2:1

You don't "need" anything new, but you might find your hookup percentage better with a moderate action rod.

If you can afford a new combo then yes. A moderate action rod helps by absorbing some of the force when you hook set or when the fish pulls.
