Electronics for Beginners

Featured Replies

I've been fishing since I was small, but only recently purchased a bass boat for bigger water & tournaments around Western KY (Lake Malone, Barkley, KY, Beshear, etc.).  I'm used to small watershed lakes where electronics aren't needed. What kind of console/bow combo would be good for someone just learning to use the electronics?  I'm thinking about Helix 10 SI for the console and Helix 9 DI for the bow.   I'm not worried about cost ($4,000 or so budget) as much as getting something that will benefit me in the long run.  Boat is a 91 Bullet, 21 footer.  Thanks for any imput.

That would be a good setup. Even with the DI unit at the bow, you can view the SI from the console unit on the bow unit via Ethernet.

My personal preference is SI units at both locations.

Bow si is a must have for me.

lowrance electronics are very easy to figure out
