Syracuse NY fishing

Featured Replies

Anyone know any good ponds or lakes around syracuse that i dont need a boat to succesfully fish?

You can fish Onondaga Lake from shore out of the county park. Fish Creek around Sylvan Beach and the north shore of Oneida there are some decent shore spots. The Oneida River out of Brewerton as well, especially in the spring.

Found this link I had bookmarked that has a bunch of lakes and ponds near Syracuse - many of which I have yet to check out:

I bet Onondaga has some decent size fish since nobody has been willing to eat any of them for so long.

Don't think many people would advertise online forums their top shoreline fishing spots on small bodies of water. Next thing you know there's always people there, littering, fewer and more hook-shy fish.

Best way to find a good spot is explore around.

I grew up in that area. I heavily fished otisco lake for years. Good shore fishing but a bit of a drive.
