Jig Modification

Featured Replies

What, if any, modifications do you guys use for jigs? I'm talking about my Siebert Sniper jigs specifically. So a small, finesse style jig for some flipping to cover. Hopping, and just general use.

the cover is fish varies  A LOT so it's hard to have my jigs mod'ed for each type. I fish a LOT of rock and hope to pitch to wood next year and bunch too.

The only mod I do to my Siebert jigs is add a trailer. :)

I had to cut off a few strands of weed guard on a batch of less awesome jigs I just recently bought.  Too stiff... afraid I'd have a hard time hooking up.

Sometimes the cover necessitates a big hook but the bite is tough. In those instances I take my normal jigs trim the skirts down and make them flare out. I also take a few strands off of the weed guard. Sometimes I'll take a finesse jig trim off a good amount of the skirt and take the weed guard way down sometimes even off.
