Fishermen in Columbus OH

Featured Replies

Hey guys/ladies,

I have a favor to ask. I have a friend who recently moved to Columbus OH. He loves bass fishing but is having a hard time finding a place or people to bass fish with. Apparently a lot of the ponds in his area are not stocked with bass/fish and fishing is prohibited.

If you can give me some ideas for me to pass on to him, I would greatly appreciate it.

Have your buddy check out ohiogamefishing.com. there is a central ohio section where he could find some ponds, lakes and rivers sections to fish.

He should check out the Ohio bass nation or Ohio bass federation if he is wanting to tourney fish or join a local club.  If he just wants to fish there are lots of ponds in Dublin open to fishing and the Scioto and Olentangy Rivers are both good when not high and muddy.

Alum Creek is a big lake north of Columbus.  Buckeye Lake is east but over run by boaters and jet skis from what I understand.  Also, Hoover and O'Shaughnessy Reservoirs.  Deer Creek Lake State Park south.  Lotsa lakes around.
