Just got the G-Force Cull System. The tags came completely blunt. I assume I need to sharpen them? If yes, what is the best way to do this? Thanks.

No, you don't sharpen the ends, they are designed to be threaded through the gill slit near the mouth just like a stringer. I always hated seeing guys puncture the lower jaw of a fish for a cull tag and I could never understand why someone didn't use a stringer clip in the first place.

I always poke a hole in the bottom jaw. its such a small hole, much like youd give them setting a hook into them.... I don't like putting things around there gills. The gills are the most sensitive and important part of the fish. I don't like when I have five fish freaking out in a small space with things going in there gill plate. just my 2 cents

It actually doesn't come in contact with the gill, it is in the mouth, but guys don't do it because it takes a few extra seconds. If the hole in the jaw would close it wouldn't be a big deal to me but every year I catch fish with holes in the bottom jaw, one fish I caught had 3 holes, because rather than try to get it in the hole that is there just puncture another. Remember, the hole is there to stay the next time you do that.

you are saying slide in through the gill plate on the outside of all the gills but it still comes in contact with the outer gill. Ive done that a few times and a lot of times the fish are find but Ive had times where they start going belly up so I have to let them go so they don't die.  Remember everytime you set the hook, youre putting a hole in the fishes mouth
