That's a real nice job for your first attempt.

Walmart sells "Folk Art Paint" for about $1 a bottle if memory serves.  It can be thinned a little bit with water and sprayed with an airbrush.  I remember someone a while back using that paint and they turned out some extra nice looking baits.

That bait looks very good. 8-)

The Folk Art paints work fine.  Createx is another good paint for lures, and it doesn't need as much thinning as Folk Art paint.

You'll get a lot of mixed opinions on topcoats.  I use U-40 Duragloss LS Supreme, but that's just my preference.  A few of the more popular topcoats are Envirotex, Flex Coat Ultra V, and Devcon 2 Ton.  You can find a boatload of info on these by using the search feature.

Hope this helps.

I use several folkart and americana water based paints.. You buy one for a little over a buck and make 2 out of them. They're really thick so I will thin about 60% paint and 40% water. Just get you some spare bottles. Get them the consistance of skim milk and you shouldn't have a problem. They will gunk up on you over time so putting a piece of pantyhose or somekind of strainer over the lid will keep the gunk out of your airbrush.
