Would like help buying first boat

Featured Replies

Hello everyone! After a very long hiatus since the days of worms and bobbers, I can finally get serious into fishing. I need help getting on the water and off the dirt though.

What I'm working with is my 2012 Hyundai Sonata (4 door sedan). Sure it has a frightening amount of power for its size, but I was looking into getting something that I won't need a trailer for. I have no experience with them, and driving in Virginia is terrifying enough as it is.

Money isn't an issue, but at the same time I don't want to spend all of what I have. It's just me after all.

Tldr: I need help with buying boat. What would you wonderful people recommend to someone to start out with?

Thank you in advance for any helpers :)

Kayak with a roof rack if you're okay with that. Other than that your vehicle limits you to the bank fishing. My friend did this with his Mazda and currently does it with his Audi.

Ranger if you can afford it.  I have a Champion but they don't make them anymore.  You can find good used ones of both.  I believe

Bass Pros bought both companies and I'm not sure of the quality anymore.

Thanks guys. I ended up going with a Solstice Quest inflatable dinghy I got from a local store. Cheap and durable enough to keep me happy until I can get something serious. Probably a Sea Eagle 285. Either way, thank you guys again for replying. :)
