Fishing in college

Featured Replies

I have fished in very few local tournaments and I was wondering if anyone had any experience with a college fishing team, I will be attending Auburn next year and would love to have some advice from someone who has been there or has fished in a lot of tournaments

Since you're going to Auburn, I believe I'd find Matt and Jordan Lee on social media and ask them directly. You won't find a better source for information about Auburn bass fishing that those two.

I fished for my school, we competed against each other at our local lakes, and did the FLW college fishing each season too. Any particular questions or direction for advice?

Those big southern schools have more rigorous rules for their membership ( you can join the club but you aren't guaranteed to fish any tournaments) than my school did. They also tend to have more boats which means they have to narrow down their field.  As for Auburn Best emailing them directly AuburnBassTeam@gmail.com

Look up the auburn bass team on Facebook or find an email to get in touch with them. That's a good fishing school and college fishing is well worth it. I'm across the state from auburn and fish in our college club and have never enjoyed a sport as much as I have college fishing. You'll have experiences that'll last a lifetime, I promise. You'll gain friends, connections in the fishing industry, and if you do well enough you can make a name for yourself early on. Not only that but you'll learn vast amounts of knowledge and get a lot of time on the water! I am writing so much because I didn't join our club until I was a junior because I was worried I wasn't good enough. I regret that a lot because I'm graduating this semester and hate I can't fish any more. It is a blast! Good luck and I hope your able to get a hold of them!

I'm a freshman this year and I'm fishing for Shippensburg University. Its a smaller school but maybe I can help a little. We just fished our first event in Virginia and it was an awesome experience. I met tons of great people in just a few days. Good luck and let me know if you have any specific questions!
