7:00 - Noon, Temp 91*, Wind SSE 10 - 15, Water Stained, Water Temp 79*, Bright sun.

Went to Lox with Steve Johnson.  We launched at Lox Road on the south end of the Preserve.   We fished the spoil bank wall again this week, and traveled about 2 miles fishing the wall on the flat side.  Steve caught a nice fish on the first cast and was thrilled.  I told  him that he might as well just take a nap, a fish on the first cast is bad luck!   I threw a hollow body frog in the shallow weeds  and had a miss by a big bass and then a hook up that came unbuttoned.  I kept reminding Steve about the first cast curse.  We both switched to plastic senkos and starting hooking up on a few keepers.  We floated 2 miles with the wind to our backs, and then ran back to the starting point and did it again.

On the second pass I caught a bass that had broken me off on the first pass.   It still had my hook in its mouth and my fluorocarbon line attached.  The chances of that happening were astronomical!  We ended up with 12 bass boated.  An unusual number of fish that came unbuttoned, and several big mudfish.  Steve was plagued by the curse all day, and I kept reminding him!  Next time just throw out the first cast and reel it in as fast as you can.  It will prevent the agony of the curse being repeated.   Lol
