VA Fly Fishing Expo -Doswell.

I was going to go fishing yesterday morning, but the weather stunk and very cold heavy wind blowing so decided to go the VA Fly Fishing and Wine Expo instead. I didn't care about the Wine part, but gotta say was rather disappointed compared to the Fishing Expo at same venue in January.  I went looking for specific things and was expecting some expo discounts, WRONG!  Paid my twenty bucks to get in and it was smaller than I expected. Also the flyrod choices were extremely limited, but they did have some beautiful bamboo rods if one was interested. I did get a pair of Simms waders I was looking for but no one had waders on any discount at all, I paid retail....stupid me but I didn't want to wait any longer.

When I went to the January fishing expo there were deals all around and I came away with quite a few nice new toys. I can't figure out why this show had none.

There were three positives, one was some decent seminars especially for beginners, two -  a lot of nice locally tied flies and three - vendors were super nice.  Most likely won't ever go back again, just no real need to.
