Concord/Sudbury/Assabet river fishing

Featured Replies

From all the research I've gathered and my own trip this year, it seems the fishing in this river system is pretty bad. There's the occasional carp and catfish you can catch. But I've never really heard of anybody catching too many bass and pike. I boated over to Fairheaven Bay this year and not a single bite in about 3 hours. Anybody have any experience fishing on these rivers?

i fished fairhaven bay 2 times last year with my buddy....probly was out for 6 hours each day and pulled in so many bass and pike it was crazy...almost every other cast was a fish...this was in late summer. Theres fish in there for sure.

I'll give it another shot once the bite picks up. I did go a few weeks ago with not ideal conditions.

I've been thinking of trying Fairhaven Bay myself, how long does it take to get there from the Rt20 ramp? I've got a 16ft Tracker with a 40hp. Are there any ramps closer to the bay? Any big obstructions in the river to be concerned about? Any info would be appreciated.
