What do y'all think about the Shimano Scorpion 200/201hg reel

Featured Replies

Any thought on the shimano scorpion 200/201 HG reel?

Same reel as a Curado I. Different color.

there are two different scorpions, one is a jdm version of the Curado like ^ said before, the other is a version like the current Chronarch (not the Ci4) and thats the version i have. Only reason its better is the chronarchs are going for $199 and i got mine off a jdm site for $159. Same reels tho just colors

It's slightly better than the curado I. Has smoother retrieve, tighter tolerances, and 2 extra bearings. It also has anti-rust coating on the components that the curado doesnt have. And JDM > USDM.

Compare the curado 70 vs scorpion 70 and you'll find the scorpion 70 is slightly better, too. The Japanese always keep the better stuff to themselves. Same goes with their cars.

The one you have is a Scorpion XT1500, the previous generation of the Scorpion 200. There is no current Chronarch other than the Ci4. The Chronarch E series was discontinued.
