Keitech rod

Featured Replies

I've been using a Daiwa Zillion 7'7" medium power regular action rod to throw my Keitech Fatties with 12 pound fluorocarbon. The Zillion flings the bait a mile and has great sensitivity. I think the regular action allows the fish to get the bait before I pull it away from them. If you're looking for a rod I highly recommend this one. I've also been using it to throw my lipless cranks too. For the record I do tend to speak up Daiwa products but I am no way affiliated or compensated for my recommendations.

I agree on the medium power. I run an Avid 7' M-F and it's a perfect Keitech rod for weightless up to 1/4 oz.

I think both of manufacturers run a little on the heavy side of power too. I bought 2 NRX spinning rods recently that I'm having a hard time picking up because I like that Zillion so much. They say it's about 75% the value of the Steez for 50% of the cost. I may have to get another one eventually.
