boat price

Featured Replies

my granpas friend is selling his boat for 2000, its about a 12 footer aluminum boat with an old johnson on it......its fairly old but in good condition how much do u think its really worth

I would think right off the bat that it is WAY to expensive.  HOWEVER, is it decked out?  Come with front and back trolling motors?  Electronics? Trailer?

I bought (at a reasonable price) a 14 1/2 ft. aluminum Jon GRUMAN boat.  It came decked out.  Front trolling motor, back trolling motor, fish finder (cheap, but it does the trick), livewell built in, 3 batteries, nice high seats and with a trailer for $1,200.00.  This was from a stranger (not Grandpa's friend, whom I would think would cut you  a little break).  MINE DID NOT HAVE AN OUTBOARD.  But old outboards are often more trouble than they are worth (even though Johnsons can pull their weight for a long time).

I think it is way too exspensive. I have a decked out 12' aluminiumand got it for $600 trailer included and bought an old evinrude for $300

That sounds very high to me.  I  recently looked at a very rough 14 foot flat bottom and trailer with an '78 Johnson and he only wanted $1000.  Heck, I just paid $469 for a 12 foot boat at BPS.  I think (stress the word "think") that they (BPS) had a 14 foot LW with a livewell, a trailer, and a 9.9 Mercury for around $2000 NEW.

I'd definitely pass on that deal and check around!!

I agree.  Too high$$. Check around, there are better deals out there.
