Hey guys.  I'm thinking of going up for a weekend and I was trying to get some help.  I don't get any vacation days for work.  So I'll only get Saturday and a little while Sunday.  

 

But id like to stay in the bay because this is my first trip. Any tips for locations in the bay.  Or baits.   Or anything in general

 

Not trying to steal anyone's secret spots or win a tournament.  just want to make the best of my short trip.  Thank you

Lol no secret spots on the bay, fish the flat in front of the monument, senkos, flukes, spinnerbaits, ratl traps, 1.5 square bills, tubes, basically anything will work when theyre on the flat

I just hope we have a good time.  I'd settle for 20 fish around 2-3 pounds haha

I went last year for the 1st time and it was june 20th for 3 days, we caught roughly 250 fish on friday all avereages 2.5-3lbs it got to the point of where we was using something that was easy to unhook them. The next 2 days were tougher  but there was 30+ mph winds and about the only thing you could throw was a rat l trap

Were there 10 of you fishing? lol. I left a couple days before that last year. Had a couple 30 fish days, but nothing like what you are saying.

No sir, me and 2 other buddies. Me and my dad went up last yr and caught roughly 500 in 4 days, actually went back this yr but had crappy weather but still ended up close to 300 for 4 days

Shhhhhh.....There are a lot of guys who would invade your waters and turn them into the crowded, overfished, reservoirs they are used to fishing if they knew how good the bass fishing is up there.

I can tell you the fishing from Barcelona harbor east for 5 miles is terrible. I changed my trip from PIB to Western NY last minute. Its like 5 miles of dead sea in that area, even tho it looks like perfect habitat. As for PIB, i have read 100's of posts and write ups of how great it is and 100+ fish days. However, that has not been my experience after 7 days last year and another 4 days on Erie this year in June. Guess i just hit it at the wrong time.
