I got a little (or alot) carried away this offseason and bought 2 G Loomis NRX 872s rods when they were on sale. I really didn't have a dedicated use for them. I had my first tournament this weekend and ended up using both as my drop shot rods. I really liked it for that purpose but I also prefer a longer rod. Anybody else use that rod for that purpose?

While I haven't used it before on paper it looks good for drop shotting to me

I use my as a dedicated deep water tube rod.  Excellent for that technique.

That's was pretty much the reason I bought them but the more I throw a drop shot the less I throw a tube. I'm having alot of success with a drop shot right now so it's hard to put it down.

You'll never throw a tube again!
