Greetings, i live in Central Mo, i fish mostly by my self. i have looked at Kayaks, bellyboats(float tubes) and the bass buggy or plastic type boat. i really like the Colorado Pontoon or that style of boat. does anyone have experience with them? would they work for bass fishing? the Waterskeeter 'fish guide' is really nice. compared to a kayak easier to transport and cheaper.

just looking for opnions. thanks in advance.

I see a lot of people using those one or two man plastic boats with a trolling motor attached. They seem to work out real well.

Keith, im in Columbia, i do a lot of fishing around here. i see those same boats too, but the weight and manuverability by myself seems it could be an issue.

heck, i used to have one, and im telling you there not very nice to move around alone.

MO Tick- are you talking about the pontoon style float tubes.  If you are they are great!  I would try to buy one that you can mount a trolling motor on the back 8)

yep, thats excatly what i am talking about. i really like them, but didnt know if anyone had experience with them bass fishing. guess a guy would just modify it to your needs.

I'm a small boat type person myself.  For me it's more a question of the "man powered" issue.  have I fished for years w/ a 12ft light gauge jon boat.  The shell weighs 72 lbs.  I can carry it on my head and a simple straight bar rack for your car is all u need.

Just offering suggestions but the pontoon boat looks pretty cool.  I guess it may be dangerous w/ a trolling motor though, no?  Has anyone ever seen one w/ a t/m?

thanks for your thoughts, yes most all of these boats have a plate for a trolling motor. i have been looking for a little Jon like you have, (nice job) but havent found one, my problem is i have a lcx16-ci fish finder i want to trade or sell to get a boat, but no luck so far.

those pontoons are very safe, most are rated for class I III or III rapids. and me being alone most of the time it would be nice.

My buddy runs his pontoon with a T/M.  He also suspended a square of diamond plate steel so he can stand up.  It is a little difficult to get into but once you are in it is great to fish out of.  

Look at the two man pontoons and you can see how he got the idea to suspend the diamond plate.  I like the pontoons, versitle, affordable, light weight, can have power (T.M.).

I have an Outcast Fishcat Cougar pontoon, and I love it.  I have mounted trolling motor, rod holders, and electronics on it.  It is becoming a little less portable with all my gear, but it fishes great.

Funny, I remember replying to this post last night on the lake when 2 people came cruising by on this pontoon. They were the fastest boat on the lake by far! That thing was cruising!!

I was looking into the pontoons as well, but i have what may seem to be stupid a stupid question. Do the pontoons deflate or are they sold material?

I have a 4 door sedan vehicle and transportability is a very big issue. I also fish by myself so weight is also a problem.  

most of them will completly break down, and you can put them together without tools.

i liked the Trout Unlimited Colorado Pontoon. but remember, look at SamsClub.com.  they have that one for 340.00 everyone else is 389-500 for the same one.

i was looking at the trout unlimited colorado, but it doesn't have the option of a T/M, or maybe i just missing it.

yes, it has a trolling motor plate, most of what i read about them say so, plus look at the picture of it, you can see it above the basket.
