Sorry if the answer is here and I didn't find it. I can't remember if it was here or somewhere else but I saw someone had a battery box with a 12v battery for thier fish finder, and they had mounted the display to that box to make it easy to remove both battery and display  together for recharge/safekeeping. 

Anyone know what I am talking about?

 

 

I used to use a cheap tackle box for the same purpose. The depth finder and rechargeable battery both fit in the box when not in use. I used screws with wing nuts to mount the bracket to the top of the box. Made it easy to take apart for transport.

yep, the yakattack cellblok.  i have one on my kayak, works very well.
