are there any good ones? i just want to be able to go out of the shore in ponds that i go to. is there a better boat for me that isnt inflatable?

I tried some of the cheaper inflatables and didn't like them at all. I never could get comfortable in them. Some of those inflatable pontoon personal floats might be good for you.

jon boats are great for ponds

You ought to be able to get a decent jon boat or canoe for $ 100-200.Get a TM and you're in business.

First want to say hello to all as Iam a new guy here,that said, think about a kayak,have been fishing from one for 3 years now and love it,you can google kayak fishing for so much info you'r head will spin.Yes they are stable,fun and best of all the fish don't know you are there(have had fish use me for cover/swim right up to the kayak),you can rig it with rod holders,fishfinder etc...a sit-on-top kayak is a great platform to think about,some of them are so stable you can stand up  and fish.Last thing , do get a rudder as it makes a day fishing a lot more fun....hope this helps and good luck.....Alan
