Lexa 100 noise and it's not smooth

Featured Replies

My Daiwa Lexa 100hl is making a lot of noise and you can feel the gears turning really bad. I used grease and oil on the main gear and it didn't really help it still casts really good. I have been using ardent reel butter and Daiwa reel oil

maybe you are feeling grit in the bearings. disassemble, remove bearings and soak in acetone. agitate them during the soak.  dry them really well and lightly oil. less is more. spin them on the end of a pencil to check they are smooth and reinstall.

Welcome aboard!

My Lexa had some issues with the thumb bar
engaging during a cast. It messed up the anti-
reverse pawl a little bit causing noise.

I was able to straighten it out and that took care
of the noise.

You do have the option of sending it in to DVT,
he repairs reels and has a great reputation here.

He's also a site sponsor, his link is on the right
with the other sponsors.
