gonna buy a new boat in spring  need input

Featured Replies

ive been fishin out of a veehull 14'aluminum boat for the last 6 years.95% of the time its on a 335 acre impoundment that gets very few windy days. I use a 30# minkota(gas not allowed) any way its time for a new boat.Ill have a little under 500.00 to spend and I was thinking about a Tracker 12 to 14' car topper jon boat. I know vee's are more stable but thats not a big issue where I fish. I have 2 swivel seats, a depth finder the battery and motor And the pricce seems to be right Anyone have any knowledge of trhese jon boats or others in the same price range?

i have looked at those before.  the problem is that they are not very wide.  this will cause the boat to be very unstable. i use to fish out of an old ten foot jon that was similar in width as those topper jons.  not very safe.  for $500 i would look into one of those pond prowlers or bass hunters.  the ones made out of plastic and look like little pontoon boats.  my brother bought one this spring and it is way better then my old jon.  you cant flip those things if you try.  nice little boat.  most of them are pre-wired for a trolling motor.

here is a pic of what i was talking about
