Lake Wylie Fishing Report 7.24.16

Featured Replies

Went out fishing today at Wylie; started out with points early in the morning and got bit on topwater. No catches, bass were just chasing. Later in the afternoon bass shut off, with only 1 warmouth from a laydown. Couldn't figure out where they were, tried all different approaches. Shallow bite wasn't there, and we didn't have the electronics required to effectively fish deeper water (Doesn't identify cover underwater). Tough conditions as well, bluebird skies and extreme heat made early morning the only feasible way for us to catch fish without blind casting in open water (Again, couldn't find brush piles or anything for dragging worms or drop shotting.) If you are going to Wylie soon, go early morning and fish main lake points. Later in the day find deep structure on the main channel.
