new sonar?? What's the best for the $$

Featured Replies

Just curious as to what folks think the best sonar unit is for the money?? I'm adding one to the bow by the trolling motor (that's right, don't have one there, don't laugh), and would like to get one that is dependable, useful, accurate, and affordable. Hope this is the right place for this question.

It's hard to say for sure since it really depends on what price range you want to be in, but the first one that comes to mind for me is the Lowrance 332C.  It has GPS and is a color unit for just over $600 bucks.

I am about to mount a Furuno GP1650WF chartplotter/sonar on my boat. Kind of high end but on Bull Shoals structure is everything and I want to be able to map the places I catch fish so that I can return to the exact same spot. For just the sonar function I found the Furuno FCV600L the highest rated unit. It really depends on what you are looking for and your budget.
