Smacked My MotorGuide X3 and fixed it

Featured Replies

I had mounted the trolling motor too far over the gunnel.  Smacked it on dock post as mrs was supposed to be watching while docking.  Really my fault.  It has 3 molded in screw bosses that screw the two halves of the directional head together. Top one ripped out screw boss at its base inside.  The two meshing gears came off their mounting stud inside head as well. But i just put the two gears back on their mtg stud and used Gorilla glue on the screw boss.  Waited 2 days to let glue dry well.  Screwed back together.  Lastly move mounting of TM forward 3 inches to be within outside edge of gunnel.

Whew!   Everything works.  Great glue and Motor Guide keeps on working.
