Hi guys ! Newbe here, just looking for some rainy day fishing advice. As it is raining here in south Florida.  Lake is clear with no trees, lily pads or cover. Basically man made. It gets very deep in middle 70 ft. Thanks 

Jonathan, fishing in the raid can be fantastic.

As the cold font moves through, the bass will become active and start feeding.

I have caught some great bass and bluegills when it was raining.

Now, a word of caution: if you hear any thunder get away from the water.

Lightning can strike within 5 miles out from the storm and you standing there holding a rod in the air is not very smart.

Yes, I know you will think  you will have a few more minutes, but don't test Mother Nature.

So hit the water when it rains but be very sensitive to thunder and lightning.

With rain comes cloud cover and water surface disruption and sometimes wind...that creates ideal conditions for topwater fishing. Buzzbaits, prop baits, walk the dog type baits, poppers/chuggers, etc etc etc. Sometimes the fish still won't commit to topwater but will hit subsurface/wake baits like One minus, Footloose, etc or spinnerbaits or bladed jigs burned just under the surface. 

Just experiment with any or all of those types of baits and find out which ones the fish want and that fit your fishing style.

One other suggestions - wear sweat bands on your wrists, the same ones used by athletes. Get several pair. They keep the rainwater from running "up" your arms and then to your torso when casting. A lot more comfortable.

I will repeat what Sam said.  If you see lightning or hear thunder get off the water.  More people killed by lightning in Florida then any other state.
