Needing DIY Bilge Pump for kayak tips

Featured Replies

I am thinking of adding some type of small water pump for a small bilge pump on my hybrid canoe/kayak for when it is raining. Obviously it wouldn't keep up if I turtled, but a rain shouldn't overwhelm it. I just want to be able to fish in the rain and not have to stop for a while to manually pump water out of the kayak like I do now.

Any ideas from you guys would be greatly appreciated!

That is what I used to use. But in my open style kayak water collects to the rear because that's there the weight is focuses. I want to put an inlet hose at the very back since that's where the smallest amount of water collects.

Just for reference I have an Ascend H12 Kayak. It CAN sink.
