Humminbird Side Imaging Technology

Featured Replies

Has anyone used the Humminbird side imaging technology. It seems awesome but if it were that great everyone would be talking about it.

It's so drastically different from other fish finders I wonder if it's legit.

If you don't know what I'm talking about go to the link below:

I had one years ago that was no where nearly that detailed.  It kinda sucked.  The one you are asking about is almost photo quality, it even looks like a shadow is in it.  I haven't been able to really make out what it is imaging but it does look good.

I am pretty sure Triton_Mike has one.  You might want to PM him and point him in this direction.

just been out 1 time since i installed the 987c . the pics on the humminbird site don't lie. if it's down there you will see it'

McFly,  Welcome to the new millineum of electronics.  The 987 is the most awesome unit ever conceived to this point in my opinion.  The reason nobody talks about it is because most can't afford the hefty price tag.  It's almost 2 grand.  As a guide I personally couldn't afford not to own this unit.  I'm not sponsored by Humminbird and I paid full retail for my unit out of my own pocket.

The 987 is everything you hear and more.  The Side Imaging technology will blow your mind (and your wallet).  There is a sonar sticky thread below that I posted just a "few" side imaging and sonar pictures for you to look over.  If I can answer any questions about the unit let me know.  I'm probably gonna be the only redneck here that has a 987 on a Tr-20 and a JON boat ;) LOL

T Mike
