Trolling Motor Cable Bend

Featured Replies

Hello Everyone,

My project boat is coming along. This is the first boat that I own that has a foot control trolling motor. I noticed that there is a metal rod that runs from the foot control to the head of the motor. As it sits now on my boat the rod seems to be bending and there's is definetely pressure on it. I'm afraid that if I recess the foot control, I will be adding even more pessure to the cable. Is this OK? Are these motors designed to work with that bend in the cable? One more bit of information. The foot control is sitting at 2 inches from the front panel that has my power plug and switches and that's at a 45 deg angle. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks
