how do you put your boat in the water if theres no boat ramp?

I'm SOL without a ramp. Now, if I had a johnboat or one of those little 2 man deals that's another story altogether.

I put mine in all the time here in Kansas.  We have tons of 15 - 100 acre watersheds thoughout the E. half of the state.  Most all of these are private and don't have ramps.  I put my 20' Stratos in 2 different lakes just last weekend without ramps.  

Key is finding the right bank.  Not too steep, but enough drop so you can get your boat off the trailer without getting your tires in the water or mud, etc.  

I have had some issues on occasion (went too far back and stuck the truck) but nothing another truck couldn't fix.

Good luck...it's all in the selection of the right spot.

I wouldn't even try it without 4 wheel drive.

I will add that I have a 4 wheel drive vehicle.

Yeah, our lake was starting to get drained and to get the boat back on the trailer we accidentaly went off of the boat ramp. Unfortunatly i have 2 wheel drive. Luckily there was a guy that had a truck and we had a tow rope so he pulled us out. SO, my advice is you better have 4 wheel drive and do not back into the mud or too deep.

Depending on the bottom(mud,hard),I've put my boat in ponds without ramps.It can be done ,but I'd be very careful.Bottom composition and having a spot that's pretty level and not a side of a hill are things to take in to consideration.To be on the safe side,It'd probably be best to go with a jon boat.

I would watch out if the lake is real low and you back into the existing bed, the dry looking lake bed can feel a lot harder then it acturally is.  As long as you are moveing you may not have a problem, but stopping and then starting again can break thru the crust.  

Yep i also fish a ton of lakes in E Kansas, that Tilt trailer and 14' starcraft work pretty cool. like stated above, the right Bank is Key. but that Tilt trailer really is the cats meow for that.
