looking at an older BPS XPS charger on eBay and trying to determine if I need not bother.  Instead just buy a new XPSi model.

Whats the difference between the XPS and the XPSi models?

I'm not sure what the difference is but BPS is having a great sale on their XPSi chargers right now. The three bank one is down to $99.00 which is like 40 or 50 bucks off. Mine just came yesterday.

Yeah,thats the best deal going right now.XPSi 5/5/5 for $99 bucks......I bought one when I was down there in February.Works like a charm.

Fivebass, I'm glad to hear you are happy with yours. I'd been leaning toward the Dual Pro and if money wasn't part of the equation I would have gone with them. I liked 5/5/5 BPS XPSi at $150 as a lower cost alternative. When I saw that $99.00 special price that kind of sealed the deal.  As I understand it Pro Mariner is somehow involved in the BPS product so that was a plus. I'm sure I'll be posting about this again when I go to do the final installation.

No big deal about installing it.Just find a good spot and "screw it to it".Hook 'em up and plug it in.Just remember to unplug it before you pull away from your house.Or pull the chargers plug outside of your boat to charge it.

Yes,Pro Mariner makes them as far as I know,thats what the dude at BPS says anyway.

Unless things have changed, Pro Mariner builds the XPS chargers, they just don't have a couple of the features the PM charges have, but they do have the main selling point of all PM chargers.  They will transfer the amperage to the weaker battery as they reach full charge.  In other words a three bank 6 amp per bank charger charging the cranking and two TM batteries will start charging the TM batteries at 9 amps each as soon as the cranking battery is fully charged.   They also us multistage charging that will charge about three time faster than most other brands.  What this boils down to, that little 3 bank, 6 amp per bank XPS charger will actually charge your batteries faster than a three bank 10 amp per bank charger almost all other brands, and weighs half as much.
