Mississippi fall pond fishing. Need some advice.

Featured Replies

what should I try fishing with since falls arrived? Here in Ms it's 75-85 degrees during the day 60-70 at night. I fish large ponds with dirty water, we've had a pretty lengthy drought so water levels have dropped quite a bit pond is around 10 - 15 ft deep at its deepest part and that may even been a little bit of an exaggeration. Texas rigged ol monster have been my go to over the summer caught few 5+lb bass. But have not had much luck with with that set up lately. Any ideas on what I should be tying on?

If it's really muddy, I'd throw a 1/4 oz white chatterbait, if just a tint to the water, medium sized shad or bluegill colored keitech. Those conditions seem similar to what I'm getting here in North texas and those 2 moving baits are what I'm catching them on here. good luck .

Hey Jordan..............

Been doing a good bit of fall pond fishing.  Been using a watermelon lizard with a chartreuse tail, a jig with brown and black skirt with a brown/orange crawfish, a suspend rattle trap and a slow roll spinner with trailer and half a lizard.  Heavy stained water(not quit muddy).  Fishing very slow.  Picking up a couple, three fish an hour but only in the 2 to 4 pound range.........
