I have put my finger on why I make so many fishing purchases.  Sure, like most everyone else, I'm looking for that golden BB miracle lure that catches fish when nothing else will BUT, in actuality, just about every purchase I make carries with it the hope/desire to take it on another fishing outing.  Having done a little bit of calculating, if this were REALLY possible, my box represents about 5,000 years worth of trips (with some time in between) and as long as my money held out, I could live nearly forever.  I know-good luck with that.

It's kind of an sickness and we all have it to some degree.

The sad fact is every one of those lures in our boxes IS the "Golden BB Miracle Lure".

IF you put it in the right place at the right time in the right color with the right retrieve. And that's where it all gets tricky.

A little luck doesn't hurt either.

 I HAVE had a few cheapo knockoffs that swam through the water like soggy cigars.  THOSE will NEVER be golden BB'S.

Well, I'll admit that big, fat "soggy cigar" eaters aren't all that common. But.... just give one to your BIG mouth, MUCH smarter than you, MUCH better everythinger than you, ANNOYING as a ****** ******, "soggy cigar" eating brother in law one time. Watch what he'll catch on it out of the back of your boat on a ledge you've made the perfect cast to 47 consecutive times.
