Thoughts on Gander Mtn. Elite and tournament casting rods

Featured Replies

With the coming sale and a pitching/frog rod on my radar, I was looking at both of these rod series'. I don't want to spend a ton since I'm not sure I'll be doing a lot of either technique, but they're both techniques I'd at least like to give a fair shake. Is the tip fairly soft like a Kistler, or is it stiff like an Abu rod? I'd be putting a Daiwa 105HL on it to pitch with and probably a TD-Z 100ML (7.1 gears) on it for frogging (at least until I find a deal on a high gear ratio Zillion or J-Dream). Worst case scenario is that I'd like to use the rod for something else should I not take to pitching and frogging.

Thanks in advance for your feedback and Happy Thanksgiving!
