Helix 7 and Autochart

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if the Helix 7 is compatible with the Autochart software?

If so, what's the difference between the Autochart and Autochart Pro?

Thanks in advance for any help; just picked up a Helix 7 and excited to get it hooked up.

Most all Humminbirds units in recent history are compatible with the contour maps that Auto Chart and Auto Chart Pro creates. It performs like Lakemaster digital mapping in a sonar/GPS unit.

Auto Chart Pro creates extra map features like bottom hardness and SI mosaics.

The Helix 7 CHIRP SI GPS G2 I have has built-in Auto Chart Live, and so does a couple of other units.

Which one of the 15+ versions of Helix 7 did you get?

Sorry, it's the Helix 7 SI GPS.

Thanks again Wayne.  I've been reading up on this and still have 2 questions.

1.  The pro version shows bottom hardness and SI mosaics.  Can you see that on your fish finder or is that only on your PC?

2.  When recording the sonar, do you have to be in 2D or does that matter?  Is there a recommended speed to travel while recording?

No problem using contour mapping created by the computer software.

 Wayne,

Firgive my ignorance if I'm missing something, but the zero lines card is much too big to fit into the side of my Helix.

Is there a way I can still use the Autochart?

My Zero Line Card is microSD in a SD adapter. I used it in a Helix 5 and Helix 7 when testing. Used it in my larger units with SD readers too.

Did you get some old stock that is not compatible with your Helix 7?

Once again Wayne saves the day.

I am honestly grateful for your help here and appreciate your feedback to this and other replies.

The chip was right where you said it was.  I did preface the email with a "forgive my ignorance".
