Does VT-NY reciprocal fishing Lake Champlain

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I have a NY fishing license and see that I am allowed to fish in parts of the Vermont side of Lake Champlain also.

I was wondering if anyone here has come across this question also.

Does this count for shore fishing or just from boat ? I read both states websites but I did not see if this also includes shore fishing.

I think it's OK except for Inland Sea and Missisquoi Bay.  We have vt licenses for tournaments out of ny.   This means we are in possession of fish on the NY shore without a ny license and it's ok.

Thank you for the input Webertime. I think I'll wind up just getting a VT license now that I think of it, just in case they decide to take me fishing somewhere else too.

Good idea.  All the good stuff is on our side anyway...
