Maxcuatro Power Pro 65# or 80#

Featured Replies

Anybody flipped with the new Maxcuatro from Power Pro?

Curious of knot strength compared to regular power pro and knot slippage due to it being so slick and smaller in dia.?

I don't get much prefish time these days so hate to go into a tourney with it in 65# and have issues, but I like the smaller dia. if line and knot strength remain the same.

Maxcuatro is a rough 4 strands braids that is made of very good spectra materials. It is indeed thin yet still over test. 30 lbs breaks at 42 lbs and 40 breaks at 58 lbs.

If you're not using a leader, expect about 55-60% knot strength with a Palomar knot. So at about  40lbs knot breaking strength with 65 lbs Maxcuatro. It's not a smooth braid so knot strength is on the low side.
