Welcome aboard, Kevin!

No experience with any of your gear, but for

general use, my MH rods are for jigs and

some heavier TX rigs, etc.

I use M and ML mostly as I prefer the lighter

side of things, for which I'll throw wacky rigs,

drop shot, mojo, split shot rigs, finesse spinner

baits, etc.

Not sure that helps at all. I'm sure others will

chime in with better thoughts :)

Decent rods and should cover your bases, however I would #ditchthegraphite as far as Baitcasters go and get a couple h2o mettle's for around $50 each, they have metal frames and are pretty awesome for the money.

I had 2 black maxes as my first baitcasters, they both died in the same season of "normal" use :(

Good little reels while they lasted, though. Havent used the Lews you linked, but I did have a Lews Speed Spool, the normal one. Absolutely hated it.

As for the Trion, thats probably the best option for a inexpensive spinning reel.

Sidenote, I see you're new! Welcome to the forums!
