Can I just use auto wax on a fiberglass boat?

get some bassboatsaver        best stuff on the planet  has a wax  i n it

I think it's usually a bad idea to wax a glass boat hull below the water line using auto wax. It costs speed. Makes no sense, but it's true.

BassBoatSaver

MacGuires Flagship Marine wax

or I use  Formula 303 protectant. Really brings back the color and adds a UV protectant.  UV rays are a killer to Gelcoat.

I've never tried car wax. I've always used Meguirs (sp) on all my boats then and only do the front part of the hull were you get the scum line. Waxing the bottom of the hull will cost you speed because you smooth out the bottom. Once I come off the water, I've started using Shazam. The boat feeld like silk after it's wiped down.
