HI

i recently came into poession of my brothers boat. Although i live less than 200 yards from the lake it is nearly impossible  carry it to the lake by my self. I need a device to move it from spot to spot. at a low price.

  Anyone got any ideas?

Sean

how big is it?  do you have anything to tow it with at all? (truck, atv, riding lawnmower)

Sean_e_bus_21,

I would re-post this question over in Bass Boating, Canoeing, Tubing and more, or maybe one of the MODs can move it for you. Better chance of one of the regulars over there having a suggestion.. 14ft of boat isn't easy to move....

Good Luck... ;)

Check out pg. 70 of the Sept./Oct. Bassmaster magazine.  There's a boat toter  that is simple to make, and should allow you to walk your boat right to the water, assuming you don't have any really tough terrain in your path.  Just an idea.  It would be simple and cheap to construct.

i got an idea.

Work out more!

jk ;)

I think that boat wheel thingy looks good for the money. Seems like that would make it a sinch and would work well.

I also use one of those Boat Dollies to move my 12 ft pram around.  They are very well made, very rugged and work great.  Flat bottoms up to 14 ft are faily easy to flip over but do be careful.  If you invest in a dolly, you don't want to mess it up by letting it slam into the ground/ramp when turning over.  Enjoy
