Bang for the Buck Bass Boat

Featured Replies

This may be more of a poll, but here goes. What do you consider to be the best budget minded, most bang for the buck, best value bass rigs. I personnaly like the 278 pro fd Bumble Bee. Fast and economical. Like some other thoughts please.

For me, it's gotta be a bigger boat, get used to a 20 ft boat with decks the size of an aircraft carrier and tons of storage to keep everything out of the way and its hard to consider a small boat.  I have a 17' Stratos that stays at the lake and when I use it, it feels like I'm fishing from one of my jons.  It's set up for stripper fishing with rod holders and such so that's about the only time it gets used.

Most of your name brand boat companies offer an entry level line of boats and a premiere line.  The entry level is often a previous model year or two old that's available in fewer color choices, fewer standard features and sometimes not all options available are offered for those boats.  The boats themselves are pretty good buys as long as you don't start loading the thing up with the options that are available and if you don't fall for the teaser motor (often way underpowered for the rig).

You can't beat the fit and finish of a Bumble Bee.  I've got a Pro Vee 180 and it handles the Potomac River nicely.  Granted, I bought it used but for what I paid, I got a great deal.
